Writing Prompt No. 42

What rhymes with donkey?

Wonky, honky (is that even a word?), monkey (sort of). Not much it turns out.

What rhymes with cart? - art, Bart, dart, fart, heart, kart, mart, part, tart, wart

A wonky donkey.

A wonky cart full of darts made its way to the donkey.

A wonky donkey full of heart pulls the cart to the shopping mart.

A monkey farts and Bart laughs. Bart farts and the monkey laughs.

The tarts were made by the Queen of Hearts all on a summer’s day.

Art with heart, is in part, daft.

The monkey is wonky.

The donkey is honky.

Bart is daft but full of heart that he leaves behind in a Go-Kart.

How many darts fill the heart that weighs down the cart that the wonky donkey pulls away?

I can’t make ‘wart’ work. It’s spelt the same but sounds different like ‘war’ with a ‘t’ on the end.

I like the idea of a wonky donkey. Poor donkey. Why is it wonky? It pulled a cart that was too heavy with heart.

‘Fast’ could work. Cart, fast. A fast Go-Kart driven by Bart is bound to end in terror.

Two of my favourite books I read as a child; Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland and The Book of Nonsense by Edward Lear. Wish I still had a copy.
